In an isolated desert motel, 7 year-old Mengmeng digs up a rotting carcass. Later that night, something mysterious is unearthed in her mother. A folkloric ode to mothers, immigrants and curious children — and the first time we saw our mothers cry.
CARRION is a narrative short film led by the only all-female team in the AFI Class of 2021 cohort. CARRION was completed in 2022 and is currently on the festival circuit.
